Advanced Public Affairs (PA) and

Publications (PB) Training

Offered at Spring Conference

We've arranged for the Aux 12 C School to be held at Conference.

What does this mean to me?
You have the opportunity to receive top-notch training.

You can receive the same public affairs and publication education that the Coast Guard receives. You will be trained in dealing with the media; developing effective interview techniques; being on-camera; handling press conferences; creating press releases for news and feature stories; obtaining additional publicity for the Auxiliary; organizing your thoughts for presentations; taking effective photos and video; and interacting within the Auxiliary, Coast Guard Public Affairs and the media. You will learn how to make a difference in every area of the flotilla's activities.

Who Should Attend?
If you are receiving this email, you should attend.
This class is open to all members of the Aux.  It is highly recommended for any elected official who wants to move up because it trains you to speak before the flotillas, organize your thoughts and  work efficiently. Priority is given to PA and PB officers, elected officers then to any Auxiliary member. Class size is limited. Please encourage members in your areas to attend this important class.

How much does it cost?

The District pays for your hotel and transportation.

It is possible that you may be funded if you live more than 50 miles from the conference and qualify. Fuel receipts and 2 nights at the hotel may be reimbursed. You will be responsible for contacting the hotel directly to make your reservations.  Remember that when you are funded, you are expected to attend both the banquet on Saturday and the Friday night fun night. Funding is limited to 25 participants. You will receive an email that your funding is confirmed.

On a personal note....
Attending made a huge difference to me.

I attended this class several years ago and it changed my whole experience with the Aux. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

How can you help?

Get the word out!

Your District Officers want to see every PA and PB position filled with people who are trained, inspired and excited about contributing to the Auxiliary.  You can help by attending this school and encouraging others to attend, too.  Thanks for your support.
